A code of sea laws compiled for the free and trading republic of Amalphi toward the end of the eleventh century.

It consists of the laws on maritime subjects which were or had been in force in countries bordering on the Mediterranean; and, on account of its collecting them into one regular system, it was for a long time received as authority in those countries.
