Money paid for the maintenance of a beacon. Comyns, Dig. Navigation (H). BEADLE (Sax. Beodan, to bid). A church servant chosen by the vestry, whose business it is to attend tbe vestry, to give notice of its meetings, to execute its orders, to attend upon inquests, and to assist the constables.
