A junior clerk in the court of chancery, whose business it formerly was to write out from tbe register those forms of writs wbicn issued of course.

Such writs were called writs de cursu (of course), whence the name, which had been acquired as early as the reign of Edward III. The body of cursitors constituted a corporation, each clerk having a certain number of counties assigned to him.
