In a statute prescribing punishment for false statements in making an entry of imported goods, “false” means more than Incorrect or erroneous. It implies wrong or culpable negligence, and signifies knowingly or negligently untrue; United States v. Nlhety-Nlne Diamonds, 139 Fed. 961, 72 C. C. A. 9, 2 L. R. A. (N. S.) 185.
