STATUTE OF.
An English statute, 6 Edw. I., c.
1, A. D. 1278; so called because it was passed at Gloucester. It was the first statute giving to a successful plaintiff “the costs of his writ purchased.” There were other statutes made at Gloucester which do not beai\this name. See stat.
