That which is the subject of a suit or action; that which is contested in a court of justice. In another sense, litigious signifies a disposition to sue; a fondness for litigation. See Vexatious Actions Act. In Ecclesiastical Law. A church is said to be litigious, when two rival presentations are offered to the bishop upon the same avoidance of the living.
