PUPILLARIS SUBSTITUTI0 (Lat.).
In Civil Law. The nomination of another besides his son as pupil to succeed, if the son should not be able or inclined to accept the inheritance, or should die before he came of age to make a testament. If the child survived the age of puberty, though he made no testament, the substitute had no right of succession.
