Separate; distinct. Exclusive, individual, appropriated. In this sense it is opposed to common; and it has been held that the word could not be construed as equivalent to respective; Colton v. Fox, 67 N. Y. 348; though it has been construed to mean all; Outcalt v. Outcalt, 42 N. J. Eq. 501, 8 Atl. 532. More than two, but not very many. Einstein v. Marshall, 58 Ala. 153, 29 Am.
