A New Law Dictionary and Glossary

[Lat. alienatio, q. v.] Transfer to another, (in alium); the act of making a thing another's, (alienum); conveyance, particularly of real estate, comprising any method wherein estates are voluntarily resigned by one man and accepted by another.
