Aliter

Lat. Otherwise. A term often used in the reports. Aliter puniuntur ex eisdem factionihus servi quam liberi; et aliter qui quidem aliquid in dominum parentemve commiserit, quam in extraneum; in magistratum quam in privatum; slaves are punished differently, for the same actions, from freemen; and one who offends against a master or parent, differently from one who does the like against a stranger; and one who offends against a magistrate, differently from one who injures a private individual.
