Lat. [from ambo, both, and dexter, the right hand.] One that can use his left hand as well as his right, or that plays or acts on both sides. Applied by Bracton to sheriffs and other bailiffs who took from both sides, (qui capiunt ex utraque parte.) Bract. fol.
