A New Law Dictionary and Glossary
Anlote, Anlot. Sax. [from an, one, or own, and hlote, a portion, or share.] In Saxon law. One's own portion; an individual tax; a share in a general tax. Anlote and Anscote is mentioned in a law of William the Conqueror, as a customary tax or payment of the Anglo-Saxons, to which every one contributed.
