Asportation

[L. Lat. asportatio, from asportare, to carry away.] The carlying away of goods; one of the circumstances requisite to constitute the offence of larceny.

A bare removal by the thief from the place in which he found the goods, though he does not quite make off with them, is a sufficient asportation, or carrying away. Id. ibid. A canying quite away.
