Lat. Twice. Bis petitum; a thing twice demanded.

Bis idem exigi bona fides non patitur; et in satisfactionibus non permittitur amplius fieri quam semel factum est; good faith does not suffer the same thing to be demanded twice; and in making satisfaction [for a debt or demand] it is not allowed to be done more than once.

A party is not allowed to receive more than one satisfaction for the same debt or demand. See Bona fides. Nemo debet bis vexari pro eadem causa. No man ought to be twice vexed [troubled or harassed, as by a bailable suit,] for the same cause.
