Per cambium intelligimus litteras solemni formula scriptas, quibuM quis alterum wlvi jubet proesentanti certam pecunim summam, sibijam num^eratam, suoque nomine satisfactionem promittit; by exchange we mean a formal letter in writing, by which one orders another to pay to him who presents it, a certain sum of money, already received in value, and promises satisfaction in his own name.
