Cassatus.
L. Lat. [from casa, q. v.] A vassal or feudal tenant possessing a casata, (q. v.); that is, having a house, household, and property of his own, {suam fami Uam, suum peculium.) The eeuati, or ca$9ati embraced both bond and free tenants engaged in husbandry, (va^salli colonici.) Spelman, voc. Casa, The oeorls mentioned in the Iftter Anglo- Saxon charters are sometimes so named.
