An officer formeriy belonging to the king's mint, in England, whose business was chiefly to exchange coin for bullion brought in by merchants and others. It is mentioned in the statute 2 Hen. VI. c. 12, where it is written, (after the old way,) chaungeour, CowelL Blount.
