Lat. [L. Fr. eantre, conter,'\ Against, in opposition to, contrary to; on the opposite side; the contrary. A term constantly used in the reports to denote the opposition of counsel in a cause; the disallowance by the court of a point in argument, {curia contra); and the opposition of cases cited as establishing opposite doctrines.
