The word, in this sense, is derived from the Lat. rnxmiare. To give in charge, as to a jury. Deinandetur appears to have this sense in the following passage in the Statute of Marlbridge, c. 5: Et hoc coram justitiariis itinerantibusin 8uis iti TieribiLS, cum opusfueriiy demandetur. Lord Coke translates it " shall be inquired."
