Detinet

Lat. (He detains.) In pleading and practice. A term anciently used (as the English equivalent still is,) in declaring in certain actions of debt, as against executors and administrators, &c., and which has given name to the mode of declaring in such cases; the declaration being said to be "in the detinet."
