Dwelling House

A house in which the occupier and his family usually reside, or, in other words, dwell and lie in. Wharton's Am. Crim. Law, 357. Otherwise called a mansion house. 3 Serg. <t i2. 199. A building or out-house standing near enough to the dwelling house to l^ used with it, as appurtenant to it, or standing in the same yard, whether the yard be enclosed or open, is part of the dwelling house, so that burglary may be committed withm it. 1 Devereux (N.
