Feu is derived either from the Fr. firf, by a slight change in the letters, or from the It SxTfeudum, by abbreviation, or it may be directly from the primitive Sax. feoh, the sound of which it retains with very little variation. To feu is used as a verb in old statutes. Stat, Jac. VI.
