A New Law Dictionary and Glossary
[L. Lat. recens insecutio.] In English law. Immediate or speedy pursuit, or prosecution. The pursuit of an offender, or felon, as a thief, immediately, or as soon as possible after the robbery^ incli^ding the prosecution of such pursuit until the apprehension and conviction of the offender. The object of this was to enable the party to recover his goods, which otherwise would belong to the king.* JBritt. c.
