Covenant for. One of the usual covenants entered into by a vendor, for the protection of the vendee's interest in the subject of the purchase. It seems to be confined to an assurance by way of conveyance, and not to extend to further obligations to be imposed on the covenantor by way of covenant.

It is one of the usual covenants in common warranty deeds, and imports that the grantor will execute any such further instruments as may be found necessary to assure the title.
