In old English law
An affbrcement; a strengthening, adding to; increase. Aforciamentum plegiorum; aforcement of pledges. If a defendant did not appear after the first attachment, then upon the plaintiff offering himself, he was to be attached by better pledges, to answer on another day. This was called aforciamentum plegiorum. Bract. fol.
