Aid-Prayer

Ayd-pryer. [L. Fr. aide-prier; L. Lat. auxilii petition In old practice and pleading. A prayer m aid, or for aid; a prayer or petition to the court, by a tenant in real actions, for the aid of another person interested in the property demanded, to help him defend the action.* Thus, a tenant for life might, at common law, pray in aid of him that had the inheritance in remainder or reversion; that is, that he might be joined in the action, and help to defend the title. 3 Bl.
