[Lat. communis.] Bracton distinguishes between common and public. Publica ita accipiuntur qua sunt omnium popuhrum, i. quce spectant ad usum hominum tantum. Communia vero did poterunt aliquando quce sunt omnium animantium. Public things are understood to mean those which belong to all people, that is, with reference to the use of tnen only.
