Fugitivus

Lat. [L. Fr. fuitif; Sax. flyman.] In old English law. A fugitive. Fugitivi; (Sax. flyman,) fugitives. One who fled after committing a felony. See Bona fugitivorum. A villein or bondman who left his lord without the intention of returning. Cum consuetudinem revertendi habere desierint, incipiunt esse fugitivi, ad similitudinem cervorum domesticorum; when they have discontinued the habit of returning, they begin to be fugitives, like tamed deer.
