A term applied to vessels plying exclusively between domestic ports, and usually to those engaged in domestic trade, as distinguished from vessels engaged in foreign trade and plying between a port of the United States and a port of a foreign country ; not including pleasure yachts. Belden v. Chase, 150 U. S. 074, 14 Sup. Ct. 264, 37 L. Bd. 1218.
