Crassa, Lat. [Fr. grosse.] Large, gross. Crassus piscis; (craspice;) large fish. Bract. fol. 55 b. Called in another place, grossus piscis; sicut balaena, sturgio et alii pisces regales; (the whale, sturgeon and other royal fish.) Id. fol. 14, 120. These were called royal fish, as belonging to the king, when either thrown ashore, or caught near the coast. 1 Bl. Com. 290.
