6 U.S.C. § 681 — in this part

The term "cyber incident"—

(A) has the meaning given the term "incident" in section 659 1 of this title; and

(B) does not include an occurrence that imminently, but not actually, jeopardizes—

(i) information on information systems; or

(ii) information systems.

The term “cyber incident” means actions taken through the use of computer networks that result in an actual or potentially adverse effect on an information system or the information residing therein.

The term “cyber incident” means an action that creates noticeable degradation, disruption, or destruction to the cyber environment and causes a safety or other negative impact on operations of—

(A) the national airspace system;

(B) civil aircraft; or
