First fruits paid out of spiritual benefices to the pope, being the value of one year's profit. ANNEXATION (Lat. ad, to, nexwre, to bind). The union of one thing to another. It conveys the idea, properly, of fastening a smaller thing to a larger; an incident to a principal. It has been applied to denote the union of Texas to the United States. Actual annexation includes every movement by which a chattel can be joined or united to the freehold. Constructive annexation is the union of such things as have been holden parcel of the realty, but which are not actually annexed, fixed, or fastened to the freehold.
