SINGLE.
In contracts. A written unconditional promise by one or more persons to pay to another person or other persons, therein named, a sum of money at a time therein specified. It is usually under seal, and may then be called a "bill obligatory."

In equity practice
One which is filed when, from the neglect of parties, or some other cause, it may become impossible to carry a decree into execution without the further decree of the court.
