Chapels

Places of worship. They may be either "private" chapels, such as are built and maintained by a private person for his own use and at his own expense, or "free" chapels, so called from their freedom or exemption from all ordinary jurisdiction, or chapels "of ease," which are built by the mother church for the ease and convenience of its parishioners, and remain under its jurisdiction and control.
