See "Actio ex Conducto." CONDUCTIO (Lat.) A hiring; a bailment for hire. It is the correlative of locatio, ^ letting for hire. Condueti actio, in the civil law, is an action which the hirer of a thing or his heir had against the latter or his heir to be allowed to use the thing hired. Conducere, to hire a thing. Conductor, a hirer, a carrier; one who undertakes to perform labor on another's property for a specified sum. Conductus, the thing hired.
