A sum of money (6s., 8d., 3 Bl. Comm. App. v.) tendered and paid into court in certain cases in the trial of a writ of right by the grand assize.

It was paid by the tenant to obtain an inquiry by the grand assize into the time of note. It compelled the demandant to begin.
