EGRESS, AND REGRESS. These words are frequently used in leases to express the right of the lessee to enter, go upon, and return from the lands in question. INGRESSU (Lat.) An ancient writ of entry, by which the plaintiff or complainant sought an entry into his lands. Tech. Diet. INGRESSUS (Lat.) In old English law. Ingress; entry. The relief paid by an heir to the lord was sometimes so called.
