A term nearly synonymous with "mortmain." MORTIS CAUSA (Lat.) By reason of death; in contemplation of death. Thus used in the phrase, donatio mortis causa (?• ■"•) MORTIS MOMENTUM EST ULTIMUM vltae momentum. The last moment of life is the moment of death.
