One who Is apparently or ostensibly a member of a firm, but who is not really so. The term "ostensible partner" has been used in the sense of nominal partner (67 Tex. 383), but it is better to confine the term "ostensible partner" to one who is really a partner, and known as such, and apply "nominal partner" to one who is not really a partner, but only apparently so.
