In Scotch law
A person who takes meat and drink from others by force or menaces, without paying for it. Bell, Diet. SORS (Lat.) In Civil Law. A lot; chance; fortune. Calv. Lex.; Ainsworth. Sort; kind. The little scroll on which the thing to be drawn by lot was written.
