Mentioned in Fleta as officers of the king's court, who oppressed VERIFICATION (Lat. verum, true, facio, to make). In Common-Law Pleading. An averment by the party making a pleading that he is prepared to establish the truth of the facts which he has pleaded. The usual form of verification of a plea containing matter of fact is, "And this he is ready to verify," etc.
