The Cyclopedic Law Dictionary

A "willful" differs essentially from a "negligent" act. The one is positive, and the other negative. Intention is always separated from negligence by a precise line of demarcation.

38 Jones & S. (N. Y.) 281, 317, affirmed in 63 N. Y. 77.
