An escaping thief caught with stolen goods in his possession. Spel. Gloss. FEHMGERiCHTE. An irregular tribunal which existed and flourished in Westphalia during the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. From the close of the fourteenth century its Importance rapidly diminished; and it was finally suppressed by Jerome Bonaparte in 1811.
