The act of putting out money at interest. FOENUS NAUTICUS (Lat.) The name given to marine interest. The amount of such interest is not limited by law, because the lender runs so great a risk of losing his principal. Ersk. Inst. bk. 4, tit. 4, note 76. See "Marine Interest."
