Frithburgus. [from Sax. frith, peace, and borg, a pledge.] In old English law. A kind of frankpledge, by which the lords or principal men were made responsible for their dependents or servants. Bract. fol. 124 b. It is usually confounded with the ordinary frankpledge, but seems to have been of a peculiar character. See Frithborg.
