15 U.S.C. § 2702 — as used in this chapter

“fuel” means any energy source capable of propelling an automobile;

26 U.S.C. § 4064 — for purposes of this section

The term “fuel” means gasoline and diesel fuel. The Secretary (after consultation with the Secretary of Transportation) may, by regulation, include any product of petroleum or natural gas within the meaning of such term if he determines that such inclusion is consistent with the need of the Nation to conserve energy.

49 U.S.C. § 32901 — in this chapter

“fuel” means—

(A) gasoline;

(B) diesel oil; or

(C) other liquid or gaseous fuel that the Secretary decides by regulation to include in this definition as consistent with the need of the United States to conserve energy.
