Formerly one of the territories of the United States. It was bounded on the north by the state of Kansas, on the east by the states of Arkansas and Missouri, on the south by the state of Texas, and on the west and north by the territory of Oklahoma. It comprised the Indian reservations of the Quapaw Agency and of the Cherokees, Choctaws, Chickasaws, Creeks, and Seminoles, the five civilized tribes. See Oklahoma.
