United States Supreme Court

every person engaged in the business of selling, purchasing of resale, transporting, or handling and/or slaughtering live poultry, from the time such poultry comes into the New York metropolitan area to the time it is first sold in slaughtered form.

Defined by the Supreme Court in Ala Schechter Poultry Corporation v. United States, 295 U.S. 495 (1935).
