In the civil and common law. An oath. Juramentum est affirmatio vel negatio de aliquo, attestatione sacrae rei firmata: an oath is an affirmation or denial respecting any matter, confirmed by the attestation of a sacred thing. Juramentum est indivisibile, et non est admittendum in parte verum, et in parte falsum: an oath is indivisible, and is not to be received as in part true and in part false.
