In old English law. To swear; to make oath; to take an oath. Jnrare est Deum in testem vocare, et est actus divini cnltus: to swear is to call God to witness, and is an act of religion. Jurat: he swears; the memorandum at the foot of an afl Bdavit showing when, where and before whom it was sworn.
